Thank You!

As some of you know, I never picked up a camera until about 4 years ago. Every moment I capture is a new treasure to me.

This year, my work has found a place in homes, businesses, galleries and in print across the country.. and I am so very grateful. To those who have found beauty, reflection and emotion in my humble work, I thank you.

I find the technical aspects of what passes today as salable photo art to be somewhat void of spirit for my personal tastes. Heavily photoshopped art has it's place, and I approach and sell it occasionally.. but is not what I strive for.

My goal is to capture the heart and soul of my subjects. Your comments and appreciation of my work encourage me to believe that I am in some small way accomplishing my purpose.

My more artistic endeavors (not featured here) are also receiving national attention thanks to patron recommendations.

I am excited to have recently received a generous new commission from a patron in Montana that will take place this spring. I am recruiting the models and arranging the set and costumes now.

Some of this work will not be released publicly, but I will post a few teasers here in the future.

Again , thank you to those I have never personally met for your encouragement and patronage.. and to those who know and love me for your continued faith and support.

Annette

I am honored to have been noted in this review... thank you CaptainArtWalk!

I have enjoyed Annette's online photography, but Annette is more than a mere photographer. Her camera is not essential to her true art, which is building human community and understanding humans. She is deeply anthropological and she sees people in their existential setting. For example, Annette does more than offer her portrait skills. She makes certain you can capture good autumn color for your settings. The act of taking a picture requires focus and usually that means exclusion of all objects outside the frame. Annette's habit of mind is too global for that to occur. Study one of her photographs, and you will find yourself lead along the path of her wild muse, onward to a world she has connected. It is amazing that she has been selected twice by Hallmark for greeting card images. Her images are far more freighted than that, whispering endlessly.

Portraits: Danielle.

Every once in a while I'll see a look or a face that intrigues me.
I was drawn to this lovely young lady at a local historical re-enactment.. Feast of the Strawberry Moon.
This is a sample of natural beauty in it's purist form... and then I saw her sister as well!
I look forward to doing a portrait shoot in the next few weeks with Danielle and also with her sister Emily.. an equally gorgeous young lady, with an entirely different look. Would you believe these girls are twins? (See last photo)
